Renewal Visa

Student pass is a necessary pass to continue study at Malaysia higher education institutions.

  1. All international students are responsible for their own Student Pass validity while studying in Malaysia.
  2. This application is only applicable for student with a study status Active or Dissertation.
  3. Student needs to be in Malaysia during the process of renewing the Student Pass.
  4. The application must be applied within 3 months (90 days) before the current Student Pass expiry date.
  5. If the Student Pass duration is valid for more than 1 year (one – off), it is compulsory to renew your i-Kad within 3 months (90 days) before the current i-Kad expiry date.
  6. Overstaying / late of documents submission is a serious offence and will be obliged to pay for penalty or Special Pass imposed by the Malaysian Immigration Department.

  1. The i-Kad is an identification card for foreign students and can be used as a means of identification in Malaysia.
  2. i-Kad will only be issued upon the issuance of a Student Pass.
  3. i-Kad renewal application is compulsory to be applied within 3 months (90 days) before current i-Kad expiry date by students that have more than 1-year validity (one – off).
  4. In the event that the i-Kad is loss or damaged, an i-Kad replacement application shall be applied by the student.

The announcement from the Malaysian government on 08 July 2020 has stated that the international students from either public universities or private universities are being allowed to enter Malaysia to resume their studies.

As a result, the international students are required to obtain an approval from the General-Director of Malaysian Immigration Department via the application of Travel Authorization. To apply, please ensure that you have registered an account with EMGS.
